Try Something New Today: Oriental Snacks and Treats

30 May 2017

Here in the UK, snacking is something that we simply love. Be it mid-morning snacks to keep you fueled until lunch, or an evening treat; they fill us with happiness and keep us going throughout the day. We all have our favourites whether they are sweet or savoury, but here are a few oriental snacks of the sweet variety that we think will soon take over as firm family favourites:

Meiji Hello Panda

Hello Panda is one of the most popular sweet treats throughout countries such as Korea and Japan. Each individual biscuit is similar to shortbread and is filled with a delicious flavoured cream. Just a few of the flavours available include milk, double chocolate and strawberry. These are the perfect snack for those with a sweet tooth, offering a smooth creamy inside with a crunchy outer shell.

Haitai Honey Butter Chips

Honey butter chips are really something special, so special in fact that it is difficult to liken the flavour to anything else! This is one of the most popular snacks from Korea, having only been released in 2014 and is now available in the UK through our store (as well as online!) They are a variety of fried potato chips, but with a unique sweet twist. These are simply irresistible so be sure to order more than just one pack!

Orion Choco Pie

The Choco Pie is a classic snack, similar to that of a Wagon Wheel. The soft biscuit and sticky marshmallow filling are coated with a generous layer of chocolate, offers the most satisfying treat of all. Other flavours are also available including the brand new matcha green tea alternative and banana too! The kids will be thrilled to find one of these in their lunchbox, and you will be too!

Lotte Pepero

Pepero is a long-loved sweet snack in many parts of Asia. Their crunchy biscuit stick and thick chocolate coating mean that they are incredibly moreish. These are also available in many other delicious flavours including, nude, almond & chocolate, peanut and white cookie. This offers something for every taste and is something that you’ll want to have stocked in your cupboards for any late night munchies.

Nong Shim Mini Churros

Have you ever had fresh churros? Well, these mini churros are a crispier, sweeter and even more moreish alternative! With a sweet combination of cinnamon and custard, you’ll be reaching for more. Although churros are more commonly associated with countries such as Spain, these alternatives do not disappoint, as they have been reinvented and taken to the next level. Sweet crisps are the latest craze, and we love them!
