Mooncake

Mooncake is a Chinese pastry product usually eaten during Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节 Zhōngqiūjié (known as the Moon Festival or Lantern festival). This is a traditional must eat food and often given to friends and family as gift or shared amongst all during the festivity.Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated during Chinese lunar calendar 15th day of the 8th month, which the moon is known to be the fullest and the brightest of all year. This year 2018, the festival takes places on the Monday 24th September. The most common way to celebrate is eating mooncakes after eating dinner with the whole extended family while admiring the brightest full moon.There are different types of Mooncakes that is suitable for all, such as the traditional and updated version - lava mooncake with different flavours, also you don't have to worry about the calories, there is low sugar mooncake too.The traditional mooncakes have a chewy thin crust, thick filling usually with lotus seed paste and in the middle; it holds one or two entire salted egg yolk(s) that represent the full moon, which as an either round or squared shaped.
