Seoul is a city known for its vibrant way of life. From its rich history, culture and tradition to the diverse population and the array of fascinating architecture in the city, South Korea's capital is a metropolis offering a new experience around every corner. Today, we're going to take a look at some of the most popular cuisine in Seoul.

Wonderful and unique is definitely a great way to describe Korean Food.
One area where this place has a whole lot of expertise is when it comes to noodles. Korean noodles are part of a long and rich history; people have been making, eating and enjoying this food stuff here for centuries. Noodle dishes, often known as 'guksu' or 'myeon' are everyday, delicious meals for many Koreans and visitors to Seoul. However, supercharged versions of Korean noodles are also served at many different celebratory events. In Korean tradition a long noodle represents a long life which is why cooking someone long, delicious noodles on their birthday can represent you wishing them a long and prosperous life.

A popular protein when it comes to Korean food is eel. Eaten in a variety of different ways, eel is a popular meal during the summer months. This is due to it being in season in Seoul and other Korean cities during this warmer time of the year. Many Koreans refer to eel as one of the healthiest foods to eat. Other regional delicacies, which you may or may not want to try, include live octopus, acorn jelly and chicken feet.
In the summer months the residents of Seoul like their food to be just as hot and fiery as the weather.Although other cultures and countries have a tendency to forego hot food in favour of cool salads, ice creams, and other chilled foods when the temperatures hit the 20s and beyond, Koreans do the complete opposite. They believe that by eating spicy, mouth-watering dishes during the warmer months you will actually end up cooler, due to the sweat that you produce when you eat – a couple of particular dishes that they enjoy are bibim naengmyeon & jjamppong.

If you're heading to Seoul to get a taste of delicious Korean food then there are some things that you definitely shouldn't miss out on trying. From unique Dakhanmari, a very traditional, local Korean cuisine boasting a unique dining experience for those who have never tried it before (it's basically a whole chicken in a clear broth), to traditional black sesame porridge known as 'heukimjajuk', there is something for everyone to fall in love with when it comes to the wonderful world of Korean food. There's also plenty of options if you have a sweet, rather than a savoury, tooth, so don't forget to enjoy a 'dasik' or two, a cake pressed with a beautiful pattern that is eaten while you enjoy a glass of tasty Korean tea.Bon appetit, or should we say:

"먹어 보자"?
